Any incoming, first-time-in-college student at Florida State University who was not admitted to the Honors Program through the standard admission process may apply for lateral admission in the Spring of their first year to begin the Honors Program in the following Fall semester. Lateral applicants are assessed on their college GPA, college course rigor, and the quality of written essays regarding the program.
Students who are admitted laterally are held to the same program requirements as students admitted by standard admission.
Eligibility
- First-time-in-college student admitted in either Summer or Fall 2025 or through FSU Next for Spring 2026.
- Currently enrolled at FSU.
- Must be enrolled on main campus.
- Minimum 3.5 FSU GPA
- Application must be submitted before the deadline.
Application Deadline: April 24, 2026
